In a medium skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.
Add the pine nuts and toast them in the oil for 1 - 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are lightly browned (watch them carefully – they burn quickly!).
Add the asparagus and stir-fry it for 3 - 5 minutes until it is tender crisp. Season it with salt and black pepper.
