1Tbsp. balsamic vinegaror other sweet vinegar
Instructions
In a small to medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, the sugar, and the cloves and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
Add the pears and vinegar to the liquid (it doesn’t have to be boiling yet), trying to immerse them as much as possible, and simmer for 10 – 15 minutes until they cut easily with a spoon.
Remove the pears from the pan and continue to simmer the liquid for 10 more minutes to turn it into a syrup. Serve the pears immediately with some or all of the syrup poured over them, or store them in the sauce for up to 3 days.
