Had to use a substitute for dill because I couldn't find any in the pantry. I chose tarragon. The "ranch" is tasty as is or with potato chips, and in a few minutes, we'll see how it goes with baked potatoes! It's a pretty good substitute for ready-made dressing, and often I'd much rather whip something up than go to the supermarket looking for it. Also, in France, there are many of the American-style condiments that are missing from the shelves. Not a lot of bottled salad dressings apart from ranch and various vinaigrettes, which can also be made at home easily.
