French Bread Calzones

Prep + Cook Time: 30 minutes

Longtime Scramble subscriber Colleen Masse sent me the recipe for her family’s favorite Sixth Night Scavenge dinner.  She unrolls and fills Pillsbury French Bread dough with whatever is left in the fridge at the end of the week.  Scramble recipe tester Kimberly Wilcox said she customized the calzones to her teenagers’ tastes and they “both wolfed them down and loved them!”  These calzones can also make a great party appetizer, sliced into 8 smaller rectangles.  Serve them with sliced pears.

Kids and parents loved these! We used peperonni and as much fresh spinach as we could cram in. Needed 2 separate pans however.

My kids went insane for these. says:

I could not get the lid off my jar of red sauce … so used Trader Joe’s Alfredo Sauce – it was surprisingly good and the kids loved it.
